Law College
Dehradun commands the enviable position
of being in the league of best law college in Dehradun and India. The college has
earned many laurels to its credit. It has
pioneered the 5-years BA.LL.B integrated
under graduate course in northern region of
India, it is the first independent Law
College and the first college in the state
of Uttarakhand to get Bar Council of India’s
approval to run LL.M degree course.
Law College Dehradun has glorious past and
promising future prospects. A large number
of its alumni occupy distinguished positions
in the legal professions in the country and
abroad. The students of Law College Dehradun
have been consecutively scoring top most
positions in the university examinations and
securing Gold Medals. Many former students
of Law College Dehradun have cracked the All
India Judicial Services and the State
Judicial Services examination. A college
that has innovated Legal Education and
created new career options.
Law College Dehradun was founded in the year
2002 with the aim of providing quality education in
law. We pioneered the five year BA.LL.B integrated
degree course in Uttarakhand.
His Excellency Shri Surjeet Singh Barnala the then
Governor of Uttarakhand inaugurated the college in a
graceful ceremony. The other dignitaries
present on the occasion were, Dr.Ramesh Pokhriya
'Nishank',the present Chief Minister
of the State, Mr. Aggrawal, then Vice
President, Bar council of India, Mr. Suryakant Dhasmana and other
distinguished people from various fields.
Shri Barnala hoped that the
College will live up to the expectation of the
students-community, parents and the society at
large.
Inaugurating the Law College Dehradun on 8th
October, 2002, His Excellency Shri Surjit Singh
Barnala, the then Governor of Uttarakhand
complimented the students on choosing the law degree
courses and said... "There
is still need for good lawyers."
In over a decade we have redeemed our pledge to
make Law College Dehradun the premier college of the region.
